Wain Mimic

Sometimes a mimic polyp strikes the motherload! Such a fate befell the first Wain Mimic. Taken in by kindly halflings, the mimic was fed as often as well, the halflings fed themselves. Infected with their good demeanor and too many calories it rapidly grew in size and now serves as a mobile kitchen and produce cart. Not only do the halflings have a vehicle that can look after itself, but a fine protector when things get rough on the road. Even more, the mimic has developed strange magical abilities to aid in both cooking and fighting. It still likes to eat, alot. A sinister version exists as well, tied to kobolds instead of halflings. The Web

One half of the Spider and the Web, this risen drow was an assassin sent to deal with a pesky human when Death swept the Kingdom. It and its sibling were merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now it is an ashen husk of a creature covered in crisscross lacerations leaking putrid magic with remnants of a spider-silk raiment hanging from its twisted physique. The Web saps energy from its nearby victims, slowing their hearts and limbs Oftentimes, the prey is already affected by the Spider's venomous nature and has little hope of survival. Worse yet, the drow twins still carry a mystical connection. One will not lay at rest while the other still plagues the living. -Records of the Charnel House The Web Medium undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 8 Hit Points 102 (12d8 + 48) Speed 20ft Climb 20ft Str 16 Dex 6 Con 18 Int 10 Wis 12 Cha 14 Condition Immunities blinded, ex

The Spider

One half of the Spider and the Web, this risen drow was an assassin sent to deal with a pesky human when Death swept the Kingdom. It and its sibling were merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now it is an ashen husk of a creature missing the middle of its jaw, broken bones slick with gangrene jut from its arms. The Spider crawls up on its victims and assails them with rot-poisoned attacks. Oftentimes, the prey is already affected by the Web's aura and cannot get away. Cuirassier Mimic

Hand-crafted by an aberrant soul, the first mimic of this breed was given to the creature's loyal bodyguard to provide both protection... and a second bodyguard as it were. The monstrosity performed exceptionally well, especially when heroes slew the fellow wearing it and the mimic kept the bottom fighting. Thus the cuirassier mimic was passed to the next right-hand-mook, and so on as its bearers passed. This lead to a legend of an immortal servant when in truth, it was just the armor all along. Eventually, its creator was killed, the mimic 'looted', and its spore spread across the realm. Basket Mimic

Each and every one an annoying little blighter, these tiny mimics band together for mutual protection and hunting purposes. Bred either by goblins or gnomes, depending on who tells the tale, these wretched swarms were left as deadly gifts on doorsteps. Their appealing, if false, nature, lead the unwary to reach into a gaggle of tiny mimics, and well, they feasted. Over time, the madcap nature of the basket mimics grew to the point where they can befuddle the minds of others, making them quite the dangerous predator indeed. Oddly, even though it gives them little advantage, they also will roll underfoot as an apple or the like just to watch humanoids fall. Have you ever heard a fruit basket giggle? You don't want to. Deathshead

No one quite recalls what the zombie was before Death swept the Kingdom. There are some clues that it had been a venerable monk covered in all manner of mystical tattoos, the most prominent of which was that of a moth. Its essence was trapped in that very bit of ink as it tried to escape this terrible fate. From corpse to corpse it jumps now, always destroying the eyes of its new host. But, it needs not eyes to see for its very hatred of light drives the creature... or perhaps it longs for a warmth it can never again enjoy. -Records of the Charnel House Deathshead Medium undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 9 Hit Points 52 (7d8 + 21) Speed 40ft Str 15 Dex 8 Con 16 Int 3 Wis 11 Cha 5 Condition Immunities blinded, exhaustion, poisoned Damage Resistances falling damage Damage Immunities poison Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 13 Languages

Mauling Mimic

Cherished by a long line of barbarian chieftains before the tribe was extinguished, the mauling mimic's origins remain shrouded in myth. The tribe's tale states that their first chieftain pulled this weapon from the blood of a primordial demon they slew, yet, all the monstrosity's descendants are clearly specialized mimics. It doesn't really matter as the creatures are quite potent weapons in the right hands or lethal predators without. Either way, skulls are going to get crushed. Rust Maw

A horrific abomination, the zombie known as Rust Maw hunted before Death swept the Kingdom and still does so to this day. Of course, now its quarry is something different altogether. No one is quite sure how its lower jaw was replaced with a rusted beartrap, or just how deep the attached chain goes into its gullet. However, it gives the shambler one hell of a bit. Worse yet, it turns lesser zombies into 'living' traps. Exploding in a rain of gore, the zombies stifle prey trying to run away. Then Rust Maw and its hanger-on's feast. -Records of the Charnel House Rust Maw Medium undead (zombie), neutral evil Armor Class 9 Hit Points 45 (6d8 + 18) Speed 20ft Str 15 Dex 8 Con 16 Int 3 Wis 16 Cha 7 Skills Survival +7 Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned, restrained Damage Immunities poison Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 13
