Tile Mimic

A larger, similar species to the Trapdoor Mimic , the Tile Mimic possesses a cruel and devious mind. As such, it likes to play with its food. The monstrosity can suppress its adhesive ability and allows the prey to filter in and inspect whatever random ‘puzzle’ its outer shell presents. From there, it plays the part of an acid spray trap, shooting caustic fluids now and again while manifesting pressure plates and cogs. Then, once it’s grown bored as a cat does with a mouse, the devouring begins. Forte

Enrobed in bright silks, the forte strikes a shape similar to a dervish dancer, save the spaces between the fabric containing little more than a deep-violet murk. It wears a lacquered mask bearing a bemused expression which is framed by an arrangement of ever-swirling scarves that give an impression of a head. The elemental's hands further betray its alien nature, as they are fingerless balls forever vibrating with barely controlled sound. Riot Rondo. Phantasmagoria draws these elementals from cries of incoherent rage and mob justice. The resulting forte is a loud creature, both in volume and self-expression. But this is not a harmless artistic spirit. Instead, it strives to create dancing tunes using the pained shouts of others as it beats them to death. The arch elemental values fortes not only for their malicious ability, but also their loud natures can break magical silences which can be deadly to its kin. Grave Medium elemental, chaotic neutral

Boulder Mimic

Not all mimics prefer the cramped corridors and mildewed walls of a dungeon. This particular breed, in fact, prefers the great outdoors. It came to realize the most common ‘object’ one found outside was rock in one capacity or another. On top of that, animals and humanoids loved to climb boulders or brace against them for support. Passing a boulder on the side of the road, beside a stream, or in a clearing rarely strikes prey as all that unusual. Plus, running screaming meals over until they were nice and tenderized tickles the boulder mimic’s amorphous heart. Grave

Tall and whispy, the grave is little more than a grey distortion wearing a brocaded buff coat. What resembles a head supports a wide-brimmed hat bearing handbones where others might stick a jaunty feather. Jutting out from the hem are a pair of steel-shod boots straapped into place with scarves torn from funeral shrouds. Living Dirge. Forges from the quiet sobs of the greiving, the grave is a somber elemental which feeds on the fear of death, and the suffering just before the end. They serve as shock troops for Phantasmagoria deployed to terrorize and grind down foes which have come to concern the grand elemental. The song a grave produces reduces its victims to a crawl, if it doesn't stop their hearts altogether. Shroud Mimic

Not all mimics are active hunters. For example, the shroud mimic is a scavenger breed which has taken the form of, well, a funeral shroud. This simple drape of fabric lays over bodies, or can even imitate the contours of one beneath when one does not exist. After a corpse is placed in a tomb, the shroud mimic can dine at its leisure. That is not to say they are above attacking living prey, especially when hungry or threatened. Because of the death and decay the breed has devoured over time, they have developed necrotic properties as wel making them quite formidable. It is not uncommon to find them worn by ghasts and ghouls as well in a sick symbiotic relationship. Allegro

As the allegro is always in motion, it is hard to pin down its features. The billowing, bright clothes it wears are soiled with innumerable blood splatters from previous victims and hang on a scarecrow-frame of glowing crimson. The creature wears a bauta mask, though the ties of the accessory flutter off the sides of its head instead of being bound in the back. Its legs taper off into faded points. The exposed bones of its forearms resemble violin bows, save the string is made for slashing instead of playing. Fine gloves hover in the correct place, despite a break where a wrist should be. Hyper-Ventilators. Born from the panicked breath of a humanoid in the throes of frightened mania, the allegro has a hard time standing still. It wants nothing more than to bring forth such noises again and honestly Phantasmagoria has a hard time keeping those in its employ under control. Sometimes the fiendish note aims an allegro at a specific target, but it just as often lets them loose to ‘hav

Morendo

Wrapped in an opera cloak and topped with a wide-brimmed hat, the moredno appears to be a humanoid’s shadow with hungry, sparkling eyes. Its fingers are twice-as-long as they should be, ending in sharp knife-like fingers. Whenever the creature moves, a mournful sigh echoed from within its depths. Death Addicts. Sculpted from a humanoid’s last gasp, the morendo seeks to relive those final moments. As a thunder elemental, it cannot experience life in a meaningful way. Phantasmagoria exploits this desire to both keep these minion in line and motivate them to murder its opponents. Thus, the morendo slices the throats it is ordered to, suckling on that final sound before silently exiting the stage. Fiddler Mimic

Even monstrosities can have their hearts moved by music, and such is the case with the fiddler mimic. This particular shapechanger strived to create the best facsimile of its favorite instrument, in this case a variety of violins. It was moved by this particular string instrument because it could produce a wide variety of feelings from ecstatic to maudlin and all in between. It also came to loathe terrible performers except for the lovely bitterness of their flesh. As a fiddle, it could easily hunt its preferred prey, but even a middling musician will do in a pinch.
