Carousel Mimic

To no one's surprise, this mimic breed is the work of a warlock seeking to roll back the clock as their pact came ever closer to running its course. The foul creation become something beautiful to fit the warlock's carnival tastes and turned out to work, after a fashion. Soon enough, the warlock made gold hand over fist with those anxious to move up and down in age. Of course, debts always come due and the warlock's patron granted the mimic greater intelligence, the ability to spawn progeny, and well, the warlock didn't last long after that. Now, that dark carnival is run by the miscreation with its own, thankfully not terribly nefarious, agenda. Soot Foot

Prior to Death claiming the Kingdom, the zombie dubbed Soot Foot was just another of the faceless masses. While he was a chimney sweep of notable skill, no one noted the ash-smeared lad. Surely, he could have made some money it a sideshow with his double-jointed talents but he preferred the quiet life. He perished in the middle of a job, his already pliant joints tearing into compound fractures as he scrambled to find the flesh of the living. The toxins soaked into his rotting skin give him a unique virality that leaves fiery undead in his weak and he never leaves the cinder of his chimney lairs far behind. -Records of the Charnel House Soot Foot Medium undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 8 Hit Points 45 (6d8 + 18) Speed 20ft Climb 20ft Str 16 Dex 6 Con 16 Int 3 Wis 8 Cha 5 Skills Stealth +2 Damage Resistances fire Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned

Benthic Mimic

Stranded in a desert after consuming the caravan that was carting it, the first of this mimic breed wasn't sure how to survive. It only knew it was sick of starving and helplessly salivated at the thought of food. Then it noticed, creatures strayed to any body of water to drink so it did what its kind does best, adapted. Now, Benthic mimics plague not just the dunes, but swamps and forests as well, devouring those looking to slay their thirst. There are rumors of some of these species being as large as full-fledge oases, lakes... even seas. The Cackling Corpse

This zombie's name is right on the nose, well, it would be if there wasn't a festering, red hole where its nose used to be. Sporting a soiled jester's outfit of purple and yellow, the zombie moves with startling alacrity, the jingle of rusted bells, and menacing laughter toward its prey. A revered children's entertainer before Death claimed the region, the cackling corpse still holds a soft spot for the young somewhere in its rotten brain. No matter how hungry it is, the risen will never attack a child (or halfling) and has on many occasions scooped up a youngster in its putrid arms and whisked them away to safety. -Records of the Charnel House The Cackling Corpse Medium undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 13 Hit Points 142 (19d8 + 57) Speed 40ft Str 14 Dex 6 Con 18 Int 6 Wis 13 Cha 5 Saving Throws Wis +2 Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned D

Cask Mimic

Raised by a vengeful noble, the cask mimic was first trained to protect the man's most precious vintages and to keep his favorite foods fresh far longer than they should. Then, one day the noble had it devour an unfaithful spouse and hide the body from the authorities. Over time, only the bones remained within the monstrosity's mass. The fickle blueblood decided to scold and beat their fine pet one day and in response, the mimic spat the bones at them. To both their surprise, the skeleton protected the mimic, strangled the noble, and then fell inert. In the end, everyone assumed the noble was killed by a vengeful spirit and the mimic continued on, undetected. The Tombrobbed

Long kept on display in the Royal Museum, this preserved giant's corpse was pulled out of a tarpit with a great of its blackened flesh attached. At the time, it was thought to have been an esteemed member of a now-defunct tribe of giants that once ruled the region. Ever since Death swept the Region, it is a lumber pile of oozing tar, hunger, and a great deal more rotting flesh that is not its own. Each creature it absorbs adds more 'muscle' mass to the giant zombie, their warped, slick bodies filling out the regal form that once was. -Records of the Charnel House The Tombrobbed Large undead (zombie), neutral evil Armor Class 8 Hit Points 133 (14d10 + 56) Speed 20ft Str 14 ex 6 Con 18 Int 6 Wis 13 Cha 5 Saving Throws Wis +4 Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned Damage Vulnerabilities fire Damage Resistances necrotic Damage Immunities poison Sen

Entry Mimic

This particular strain of mimics was carefully cultivated into being by a drow matron sick of uninvited guests - both of the adventurer and political rival variety. Resistant to pesky bypassing magic and capable of alerting a building's occupants (and other mimics) of interlopers, entry mimics became all the rage... well, until they started eating honored guests and the occasional house pet. The matron quickly lost favor and stepped through one door never to return... as it were. The Hollow-Horned

Covered with pus-mattered fur and patches of putrid flesh, the hollow-horned was once a goat that grew to tremendous size by grazing on the necrotic leavings after Living Death swept the region. Of course, it soon succumbed to what it consumed. Its great, curled rack hangs broken from its temples, held in place by tendrils of ectoplasm. Its black hooves seep power to other shamblers. Its call is one of a multitude of miseries able to chill the blood of even the most stalwart souls. -Records of the Charnel House The Hollow-Horned Large undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 9 Hit Points 52 (8d10 + 8) Speed 40ft Str 17 Dex 8 Con 13 Int 3 Wis 14 Cha 6 Saving Throws Wis +4 Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned Damage Immunities poison Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 12 Languages Common, Draconic Challenge 2 (450 XP)

Mimic Perilous

No one is quite sure how long the throne has been a mimic, certainly dating back to the mythic age. The ultimate arbiter of a ruler's acumen, this monstrosity has devoured many a pretender, honored few usurpers, and empowered many a questing knight. Let us not speak of its siblings playing host to orc warlords, ancient undead, or sinister devils. In the end, its judgment is fair and balanced... for the time and place it lives in. Some suspect this is swayed by how hungry it is... but never within earshot. Dean of Death

An asymmetrical 'beard' matted with dried gore frames this shambler's sagging visage. It was once an impressive and stern one many an arcane student in the region feared. When living death swept across the land, however, his arcane might was not enough to save him... or his students. Still wearing ragged robes, his grey flesh is lined with once-protective magical scars that grow sallow with stolen magic and souls. He must eat to remain a thinking creature, all other concerns long forgotten in his maggot-eaten brain. -Records of the Charnel House Dean of Death Medium undead (zombie), neutral evil Armor Class 8 (11 with mage armor) Hit Points 90 (12d8 + 36) Speed 20ft Str 15 Dex 7 Con 16 Int 16 Wis 9 Cha 5 Saving Throws Wis +2 Skills Arcana +6 Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned Damage Immunities poison Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 9
