Maiden Mimic

To put it simply, this mimic likes pain. It started out in a dungeon as a scourge but it didn't produce enough. The sadistic creature changed into a rack but after a while left unsatisfied. When it took the shape of an iron maiden, oh, its dreams came true. The way its victims writhed as it ate it, the screams they made it could soon imitate! It was the perfect meal. Of course, the torturers loved having this terrible monster about both as a trusted guard dog and device. It also made disposing of bodies all the easier. The Brewer

Bloated by zombified yeast and endless bile, this shambler wanders the trade district where he died searching for undead patrons to 'serve' and living things to kill. Wearing a soiled apron, carrying broken mugs, and with a barrel strapped to its back, it's easy to tell this beast's living profession. Oozing boils dot its pallid skin, leaking skunked ale. From the way it sways instead of shuffles, it's not hard to imagine that this zombie is drunk. Likewise, it seems fueled by booze-fueled rage despite being dead. Too many slayers have fallen to its flying fists or vile spew. -Records of the Charnel House The Brewer Medium undead (zombie), neutral evil Armor Class 8 Hit Points 45 (6d8 + 18) Speed 20ft Str 15 Dex 6 Con 17 Int 6 Wis 12 Cha 8 Saving Throws Wis +1 Condition Immunities charmed, exhaustion, exhaustion, poisoned Damage Immunities poison Sen

Pavilion Mimic

A lover of pomp and circumstance, this mimic is also a finicky eater. If prefers meals spiced with noble or martial blood and thus set itself up as a habitation fit for such creatures. That's not to say that it won't eat commoners if needed, but it prefers not too. Along the way, it noticed that its preferred prey carried all sorts of items that really hurt, so it developed a method to rob them of said pointy bits before digging in. One would think travelers would be wary of a fancy pavilion on the side of the road, but curiosity kills more than just tabaxi. Staff of the Mimic

Why do wild mages always have the worst ideas? The first mimic of this sort came from such a spell-caster who charmed a mimic, twisted it to a staff, and imbued it with chaotic power until it became magical in its own right. The mage though it focused the surge into just duplicating spells, but the mimic was feeding off of him. One thing that can't be charmed is a mimic's hunger and eventually, well, it drained the mage's last bit of lifeforce to make an easy meal. lt has found many a power-hungry mage just as gullible since then. Belfry Hop

Clad in a filthy, ragged friar's robe, this horror still haunts the bell tower he once tended when the region was full of life and laughter. His ever-rotting husk first became fodder for crawlers, and then a feeding ground for the bats which fed on them. Some zombified essence transferred for the winged vermin forever bonding them to the shambler... and vice versa. Empowered by this connection, the zombie and its bats hunt for food as one. It isn't uncommon to find the latter nesting in the former. -Records of the Charnel House Belfry Hop Medium undead (zombie), neutral evil Armor Class 13 Hit Points 78 (12d8 + 24) Speed 20ft Str 14 Dex 16 Con 15 Int 6 Wis 12 Cha 8 Saving Throws Wis +3 Skills: Stealth +5, Survival +3 Condition Immunities charmed, exhaustion, exhaustion, poisoned Damage Immunities poison Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 10

Harrowing Mimic

A lover and animals but a glutton nevertheless, this mimic takes the form of a common farming implement one finds attached to beasts. Once lashed to a beast, the monstrosity takes over its mind and uses the creature to get about as well as transforms it into a hunting partner. Many a farmer has been trampled by their own horse and then 'raked' into giblets by the terror attached. If worse comes to worse, the mimic has food ready on the hoof... but it usually finds some poor sod willing to help a work animal in need first.
