Bauble Mimic

A collection of stunted mimic polyps, the first set of bauble mimics were at first struggling to feed themselves. That was until, they noticed that prey often poked chests, doors, and other common objects their normal brethren became. However, when it came to shiny gems, people and even some animals picked them up without a second thought. Avarice is a powerful thing after all. Plus, it was easy to hide in travel and loot. Over time, they also discovered that certain gem shapes imbued them with odd abilities for one reason or another. The bauble mimics didn't bother with the why, instead, they spread far and wide across the region. Nephurzaluz, the Hand of the Cosmos

Towering at thirty-five feet tall, the red-skinned hand is dotted with mismatched eyes ranging from five to ten feet around. The largest of these organs gazes from the tip of each of its six fingers. Some of the eyes appear to be from various humanoids, others from a myriad of beasts, and the last from hitherto unknown species. Before the horror's palm sizzles a fiery sigil of a slit-eye surrounded by mind-bending runes. The symbol blinks, moves, and tracks targets as an actual eye would. Lashing, blue tendrils as long as a man dangle from Nephurzaluz's wrist hiding the entity's hidden, human-sized mouths beneath. Ruination's Herald. The severed hand a god that never was, Nephurzaluz seeks to re-sculpt reality by first plunging it back into the primordial chaos from which it came. Once, the cosmic horror was a sentient golem of wax, bone, and steel. It still retains an iota of the Relict's personality and intends to shape a world that truly loves and adores it as

Icehouse Mimic

An offshoot, and rival, of the kiln mimic, this freezing variety capitalizes on humanoids' need for ice. It had started its life imitating a kiln but fell into disuse after a series of long, brutal winters brought on by frost giants. The mimic was faced with a choice: evolve or die. It flipped its elemental focus from heat to ice. Not long after it finally adapted to the frigid clime, heroes pushed the frost giants out of the area. As the temperature steadied out, the mimic found itself unable to switch back. But it also learned that in the warm months humanoids needed to store ice. Some of them also needed to dispose of bodies. It is natural perhaps, that it came into the sphere of local criminals who needed to put rivals 'on ice'. Alas, this first town was destroyed when a kiln mimic arrived and the two huge monstrosities went to war against each other. Kiln Mimic

Raised by a rural family with too much ambition, this mimic was first taught to demolish structures so it could in turn serve as a temporary unit while a replacement was made. However, it became apparent that it was too simple to make a complex building and then too hungry to trust with occupancy. The family struck upon the idea of making it a kiln after they realized it produced internal heat without the need for a fire. This new business angle worked for a bit as it cut down on production costs until the mimic learned how to dry out and harder organic matter with its warmth. It wasn't long before only statues of the family remained and only as a larder of sorts for whenever prey was scarce. Cage Mimic

As much a prisoner as the creatures it holds, the cage mimic is unfalteringly loyal to its owner, a crime boss. Maybe this is because the owner gives it many victims to feed on. Maybe it is because it's not just the criminal that showers it with adoration but the dozens of spectators that cheer it each week. Alas, the monstrosity doesn't understand the fans are there to watch the bloodshed of the often-charmed combatants forced to fight. All it knows is that those watching it howl with joy during the fight, and whoop whenever it messily devours the loser. Even more impressive is how it can clean itself with a splash of acid, fresh for the next bout. The few times heroes have tried to stop the fight, it has made short work of them as well - much to the glee of its master.
