Chimney Mimic

Up on the housetop, adventures pause Suddenly caught by its jaws Down through the chimney with lots of noise All down the gullet, acid destroys Oh, who wouldn't go? (Oh-oh-oh) Who wouldn't go? Up on the housetop, click, click, click Down through the gullet with blood so slick A bane of urban sprawl, the chimney mimic scurries from rooftop to rooftop, burrowing part of its body into the shingles. More akin to a spider in many respects, it can produce a flurry of many tentacles at once to tenderize its meals. Likewise, it can produce its own smoke to complete the illusion of being a chimney and blind its foes. Banquet Mimic

The favorite of shrewd bartenders and wary nobles everywhere, the banquet mimic is furniture, cleanup service, and watch dog all rolled into one. On top of that, it even serves as a proof against poison of most sorts. The first of these sentient tables was found by accident in an inn's bar. See, the inn always had an issue with rats. So much so, that the owner often gave free rooms and meals to starting adventurers who took care of them from time to time. Then, one day, the rat problem just stopped. He wasn't sure why so he hired the next new adventurer to find out. It turned out one of the tables was a mimic that never bothered patrons but fed on rodents. Tickled, the owner started leaving little treats for the mimic, polishing it good, even petting it. One day a fight broke out and someone stuck a broken bottle in the owner's side. That's when the mimic made itself known to everyone. Now, no one messes with the owner and several of the mimic's spawn have moved on

Icewings

Contained in a cloud of biting hoarfrost, these risen bats fly on wings of flaking leather and icicle bones. They seek the warmth of the living as they once sought blood, but still like to bite. Each tiny mouth is stuffed full of crimson shards formed from the flash-frozen blood of their victims. Each chomp breaks some fangs but forges others anew. To be in their presence is to feel the biting chill of death. -The Breathless Bestiary Icewings Medium undead (Swarm), unaligned Armor Class 12 Hit Points 18 (4d8) Speed 0 ft Fly 30 ft Str 3 Dex 15 Con 10 Int 2 Wis 12 Cha 4 Damage Vulnerabilities fire Damage Resistances bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical attacks Damage Immunities cold Condition Immunities charmed, frightened, grappled, paralyzed, petrified, prone, restrained, stunned Senses darkvision 60 ft, passive Perception 11 Languages - Challe

Sailed Mimic

Proof that you are never what you eat, this dour mimic always wanted to fly from the first time it saw a bird at wing. However, no matter how many it ate, it never learned the trait. Then it moved on to bigger prey that could fly and when neither griffon nor chimera worked, the mimic fell to despair. It ate, and ate, becoming buildings to lure prey in. Then one day, a hurricane swept through the region and it saw a structure take flight seemingly propelled by its four wide sails. From there on, it achieved its dreams as a dilapidated windmill. Drifting from bleak forest to forest it feeds on the unwary wherever it touches down. Oddly, those it once devoured now treat it as one of their own. Portcullis Mimic

What is a castle opening if not a giant mouth waiting for teeth? At least, that's how the portcullis mimic sees it and the monstrosity is all too happy to provide the chompers. No one can say for sure where the first of this breed came from, or why they are so tough. One thing is for sure, evil overlords love breeding, feeding, and pampering theirs. Many a popular uprising has been stopped the moment the battering ram gets stuck and the gate starts chewing. Feral mimics of this breed search out abandoned keeps, ruined castles, and many-halled dungeons for their lairs.
