Idolatrous Mimic

One can only speculate if this mimic is some manner of diety or not. It certainly draws energy from those worshipping it, whether it is a golden idol, winged outsider, or scaled fiend. It is also highly intelligent and plays its flock expertly, even if religion really isn't its strong suit. If it makes a misstep, the mimic merely devours the formerly devout, moves to a new area, and sets up a new following. It does the same if the blood sacrifices to it cease, or its followers refuse to take up the practice. Abyssal Mimic

A large and invasive species, the abyssal mimic loves dank, dark, deep places. Naturally, it is attracted to dungeons. It tunnels out a few chosen burrows along a dungeon's floor, preferring places with decent foot traffic. Once settled into place, it's lips become the cover of a floor trap, and its gullet turns inside out forming the spiked pit below. Considered a nuisance by most underground races, the monstrosity is pulled out wherever it is found. After all, wandering monsters digest just as well as adventurers. Nobody likes getting eaten. Wrecking Mimic

Mimics not only use well, mimicry, to lure in their prey, but also the natural curiosity most animals display. This goes double for humanoids. While some are content to be chests, doors, and the like, the wreaking mimic sets the scene as an overturned, destroyed, or otherwise incapacitated trade card. Scattered around it are cracked items and whatever inciting goods it extracts from its victims. Naturally, passerbyes approach looking for an easy score. That's when the mimic strikes. Not only does it crush and bite, but it's acidic nature breaks down whatever metal the prey might be carrying. This adds more honey to attack the flies, as it were. Gravestone Gorgon

Slain by a hero, this shambling horror did not lay quietly but she still rots. The lethal wound was a slice across the throat which didn't quite lop off her head. With what life energy remained, the medusa turned her killer to stone. When living death claimed the land, her corpse was still fresh enough to rise. Though, the snakes atop her head are putrid, seeping tendrils and her once envious curves hang from pitted bones by strands of fetid meat. Leftover venom bubbled from slit throat and cracks in her rancid skin. While this terror can no longer petrify targets, she can still hold them fast as venom burns through their bodies. -Records of the Charnel House Gravestone Gorgon Medium undead (zombie), lawful evil Armor Class 8 Hit Points 52 (7d8 + 21) Speed 30ft Str 15 Dex 6 Con 16 Int 7 Wis 12 Cha 7 Saving Throws Wis +3 Condition Immunities charmed, exhaustion, exhaustion,

Canvas Mimic

Cultivated by a starving artist, the first canvas mimic quickly bolstered the painter's reputation. Able to rip off aspects from other popular artists, the mimicked paintings produced masterworks beyond the painter's skill. At the same time, the mimic was able to kill and rob first the painter's rivals, then their patrons, and finally the investigators. When the painter realized the heat was too real he bred the mimic and sold off its children, thus spreading the scourge across the region. Other artists have begun to use these monstrosities to make their lives easier. It's only a matter of time before the art form dies off entirely... or at least all the fine art collectors. Social commentary is quite intended. Lady of the Grotto

Pale and perfect, the Lady of the Grotto served the spiritual and sensual needs of her flock before death claimed the land. Risen with the rest, she no longer needs to soothe the soulless and sexless, yet they gather unto her cave-borne temple just the same. Despite her zombified state, the dead, sacred strumpet is as white as the marble statues littered about the district. If she remains still long enough, her open wounds and ruptured flesh temporarily seal shut. Nude as she is these days, the zombie can easily be mistaken for one of these statues. Once she strikes and all the wounds yawn wide once more, the illusion is broken. By then, it's already too late and her shambling faithful are stirred into a frenzy. -Records of the Charnel House Lady of the Grotto Medium undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 12 Hit Points 66 (12d8 + 12) Speed 30ft Str 14 Dex 15 Con 13 Int 9 Wis 10 Cha 14

Maypole Mimic

Reared by a druidic blood-cult, this monstrosity grows to towering heights. It serves both as a festive centerpiece and a sacrificial altar. In one instance, the willing dance about the mimic in its pole form imbuing it with mystic potential during their rite. On the other, it flings its prey about. Once the poor souls are tenderized, it devours them in a frenzy of gore as its keepers chant in a circle about it. Either way, it's quite the event!
