Piecemeal




Eveyrone should be free to live as they want and die as terribly as they can. This is the creed that the strange collection of bodyparts known as Piecemeal holds. Originally, it was a trio of kobolds who attempted a 'ritual' of their own design meant to grant immortality. Instead, it tore the three creatures into pieces that forgot how to die. The mass went quite mad and seeks to free other body parts from the 'bondage' of well, being part of a body. Travelling as three kobolds in a trenchcoat, Piecemeal wages a brutal war against 'slave owners' (IE anything with a body) and adds new parts to its collectiona as needed to keep the revolution going. Over time little of the kobolds remain, but it still rambles about in a trenchcoat spouting its made philosophy.

Hoard.

Any time Piecemeal reduces a creature to 0 hit point, it kills that creature if it is not a construct, elemental, or undead, and tears new parts from its corpse. Piecemeal regains hit points equal to that creature's Hit Dice.

Swarm.

Piecemeal can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a tiny body part. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points except through its horde ability.

Turn Resistance.

Piecemeal has advantage on saving throws against any effect that turns undead.

Undead Fortitude.

If damage reduces the Peicemeal to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, Peicemeal drops to 1 hit point instead.

Actions

Rip and Tear.

Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (4d6+7) slashing damage or 10 (2d6+3) piercing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer.

Fifth Mimic

There was once a gambler who was tossed out one too many times by a particular innkeeper and decided to get revenge. How said gambler got this particular mimic runt and taught it take the shape of a bottle? They're not telling. However, it sprang the perfect trap on that damn innkeeper and several of the barflies who tried to help. The gambler also won't divulge how he taught the mimic to fire endless corks with the force of halfling sling stones or why so many of the bottles around town became these monstrosities within a year. Frame Mimic

Rattling from the shadows, a gaggle of rat-gnawed bones march forward eager to slay the living. One of them lags behind, looking a bit more solid than the rest. You know your mace should have broken the leading skeletons to pieces. Yet, it merely cracked bones instead of shattering them. Tentacles lash out from the slower skeleton, adhering to you and pulling you closer to the maw manifesting from its ribcage. This is the frame mimic. The spawn of the ossuary mimic, this monstrosity also feels a kinship to the undead - specifically animated skeletons. It adopts a group of such horrors and its very presence temporarily empowers them. This is why the skeletons keep it around instead of hacking it to pieces as they would any other living thing. On top of that, frame mimics develop a supernatural stubbornness that can only be called boneheaded.
