Found primarily around antisocial spellcasters or golden-hearted servants, it is said that this mimic species has a cat-like personality. No one is quite sure where the first mimic came from, but there are rumors that a wizard magically molded a mimic into a broom to keep his tower clean after his servant left. The results were not great, and the wizard realized that it was the companionship he missed not the service. Eventually, the relationship was reconciled and the mimic learned from both of them. It has a protective nature that lends it the ability to look like it's doing a great deal of work at once, and can summon great clouds of dust when threatened... or when it is bored and needs something to do.

Shapechanger.
The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an broom or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Adhesive (Object Form Only).
The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 13). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.
False Appearance (Object Form Only)
While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary broom.
Grappler.
The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Heavy Duty.
The mimic count as one size larger when determining its carrying capacity and the weight it can push, drag, or lift.
Innate Spellcasting (3/Day).(Object Form Only)
The mimic can innately cast Mirror Image, requiring no material components. Its innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom. The mimic conveys this ability to any creature holding it when the spell is cast, though the creature loses this spell if it lets go of the broom.
Actions
Multiattack.
The mimic makes two pseudopod attacks.
Pseudopod.
Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.
Bite.
Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) acid damage.
Dust Up (Recharge 5-6).
The mimic creates a 20-foot-radius sphere of thick dust centered on a point within range. The sphere spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. It lasts for 1 minute or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it.
