Screw treasure, doors, and cabinets. Everyone walks over to a window and being drawn to the view beyond isn't that unusual. That's where the window mimic finds its niche, literally. Its unique physiology allows it to turn the surface it is attached to transparent, and even toss objects through it. After all, some meals need to be tenderized.

Shapechanger.
The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an ordinary window or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Adhesive (Object Form Only).
The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 13). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.
False Appearance (Object Form Only).
While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary window.
Grappler.
The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Transparent Skin (Object Form Only).
When attached to a surface, the mimic turns that surface translucent to show what is on the other side as if it was clear glass.
Actions
Pseudopod.
Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.
Bite.
Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) acid damage.
A View to a Kill (Object Form Only).
The mimic targets a creature it can see within 60ft and attempts to draw it over to see the view. The creature must succeed on a DC 13 Charisma save or be Charmed by the mimic for the next minute and use its movement to draw closer to the window. If the creature takes damage, this effect ends. The mimic has advantage on its first attack against the creature while it is charmed.
Bonus Actions
Defenestrate (Object Form Only).
If the mimic beings its turn grappling one or more creatures, it may throw one of those creatures through the wall to which it is attached up to a distance of 15 feet.
Reactions
Breath of Fresh Air.
The mimic can use its reaction to clear the Poisoned condition from all creatures within 30ft, including itself.
