A relative of the head cage mimic, this particular strain of monstrosities enjoys the buttery flavor of brain matter, the fine crunch of cranium, and the grave that only bloody mucus can provide. To which, they take the guise of magical helmets and make the beast of burdens they move from one dungeon to another 'headstrong'. Very little will slow a helmet mimic down, and the same can be used for its unwitting mount. In the end, though, the bearer of this helmet will end up its meal.

Shapechanger.
The mimic can use its action to polymorph into a magic helm or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Adhesive (Object Form Only).
The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 14). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage. The mimic can activate and deactivate this ability as a bonus action.
False Appearance (Object Form Only).
While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary magic helmet.
Freedom of Movement.
The mimic ignores difficult terrain, and magical effects can't reduce its speed or cause it to be restrained. It can spend 5 feet of movement to escape from nonmagical restraints or being grappled. The mimic conveys this ability to a creature wearing it. However, that creature is not immune to the mimic's grapples or Adhesive ability.
Grappler.
The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Siege Monster.
The mimic deals double damage to objects and structures. The mimic lends this ability to a creature wearing it. However, the creature doesn't deal double damage to the mimic when it is in object form.
Actions
