There once was a mimic who’d seen too many of its fellow monstrosities slain by adventurers. Craving revenge, it searched the land for a form that not only would heroes fail to overcome but would strike fear in their callow hearts. Long story short, it’s a gazebo.

Shapechanger.
The mimic can use its action to polymorph into a peaceful gazebo or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Adhesive (Object Form Only).
The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Large or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 15). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage. The slasher mimic can activate or deactivate this ability as a bonus action.
False Appearance.
While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary peaceful gazebo.
Grappler.
The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Unrelenting Dread.
If a creature hits the gazebo mimic with an attack that deals 0 damage, the creature must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom save or become Frightened of the mimic and have its speed reduced to 0 for the next minute. An affected creature may repeat this save at the end of each of its rounds, the effect ending on success.
Actions
Multiattack.
The gazebo mimic makes two pseudopod attacks.
Pseudopod.
Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.
Bite.
Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) acid damage.
