Swirling on a stream of ethereal flame, this exotic weapon relentlessly tests the mettle of all those who disturb its rest. Its pick-head is fashioned from charred iron and adorned by black feathers on the backend, which lends the armament a bird’s head appearance. Well-worn leather protects its treant-wood handle and is capped off by a sliver of a phoenix’s talon.
By His left hand he pierced evil’s shell
Into the rent expanse, Castille poured holy flame
With empty eyes, He watched it burn to ash
Just as He had His beloved kingdom.
Woe, but every man’s heart also contains evil
And there is not enough fire to consume it all.
