A teardrop-shaped arthropod, the cephalon inhabits freshwater lakes and primarily feeds off of fish and smaller mammals. However, they have been known to attack larger creatures and even humanoids if the chance arises. The typical lake cephalon is off-white in color with dingy, brown patches depending on the water quality of their habitat. Their segmented shell is festooned with barbed spikes to deter other predators. The creature can roll up into ball, covering its softer flesh with the armored plates to ward off lethal attacks.
