The Living Temple of Enuk'lun

Propelled by four massive legs this towering ziggurat lurches across the landscape smashing any obstacle, natural or man-made, in its path. Cast from bone-white stone the hatches of a long-dead language scar the railings of mammoth steps. The heads of crushed icons from across the world and throughout history adorn its corner terraces, inner spaced with black-iron statues of a grim-faced clergy. Borne on eddies of crackling, blue magic a stone visage floats above the ziggurat's zenith. Forever cast with an expression of condemnation this is the face of the sorcerer-king Enuk'lun. Arcane might pulses in its eyes, eager to eradicate the heresy of divinity.

God Smasher. The Living Temple of Enuk'lun serves two purposes. First, the ancient structure keeps the memory of the sorcerer-king alive untold generations after his demise. Second, to erase all faiths which do not venerate Enuk'lun above all others. In dim eons past, the sorcerer king's empire ranged wide and far. Yet, Enuk'lun was a mortal man and it is said the primordial gods themselves stymied his ambitions. Outraged by the divine interference Enuk'lin decreed that the gods were weak pretenders, afraid to face a man of his glory and power, and outlawed all religion within his borders under penalty of death. He preached that humanity alone had the true power to shape the world, and he set out to prove it. The juggernaut he constructed, his Living Temple, sought out holy sites within his domains, no matter how small, and reduced them to rubble. The artifact supplicants and acolytes of the temple gathered the heads of gods' statues and mounted them on the ziggurat. After the sorcerer-king's death, his empire collapsed by the Living Temple continued its work. It is said that Enuk'lun's corpse lays at the heart of the Living Temple, his bottomless pride providing its power source.

Magic Item: Mask of Enuk'Lun

Cast to match the face of the sorcerer-king these golden masks were passed out to Enuk'lun's mortal priests. So great was Enul'lun's vanity that his clergy erased their very identities to pay him homage. First and foremost, a Mask of Enuk'lun protects a wearer from some of the Living Temple's effects, this includes the Tolling of Enuk'lun and the Judgement of Enuk'lun. In addition, the Acolyte and Supplicants of the Living Temple will not attack a bearer of the mask until the bearer takes hostile action toward them. Once attuned to the mask the wearer gains advantage on Wisdom and Charisma saves. Masks of Enuk'lun are quite rare, only a handful lasting through the centuries. Most often they are found by misanthropes drawn to Enuk'lun's extreme humanist stance, or hereditary lines descended from the sorcerer-king or his priests.

Cuirassier Mimic

Hand-crafted by an aberrant soul, the first mimic of this breed was given to the creature's loyal bodyguard to provide both protection... and a second bodyguard as it were. The monstrosity performed exceptionally well, especially when heroes slew the fellow wearing it and the mimic kept the bottom fighting. Thus the cuirassier mimic was passed to the next right-hand-mook, and so on as its bearers passed. This lead to a legend of an immortal servant when in truth, it was just the armor all along. Eventually, its creator was killed, the mimic 'looted', and its spore spread across the realm. Entry Mimic

This particular strain of mimics was carefully cultivated into being by a drow matron sick of uninvited guests - both of the adventurer and political rival variety. Resistant to pesky bypassing magic and capable of alerting a building's occupants (and other mimics) of interlopers, entry mimics became all the rage... well, until they started eating honored guests and the occasional house pet. The matron quickly lost favor and stepped through one door never to return... as it were. Soot Foot

Prior to Death claiming the Kingdom, the zombie dubbed Soot Foot was just another of the faceless masses. While he was a chimney sweep of notable skill, no one noted the ash-smeared lad. Surely, he could have made some money it a sideshow with his double-jointed talents but he preferred the quiet life. He perished in the middle of a job, his already pliant joints tearing into compound fractures as he scrambled to find the flesh of the living. The toxins soaked into his rotting skin give him a unique virality that leaves fiery undead in his weak and he never leaves the cinder of his chimney lairs far behind. -Records of the Charnel House Soot Foot Medium undead (zombie), chaotic evil Armor Class 8 Hit Points 45 (6d8 + 18) Speed 20ft Climb 20ft Str 16 Dex 6 Con 16 Int 3 Wis 8 Cha 5 Skills Stealth +2 Damage Resistances fire Condition Immunities exhaustion, poisoned
