Challenge 18 (20,000 XP)

Antimagic Susceptibility.

Ersatz is incapacitated while in the area of an antimagic field. If targeted by dispel magic, the Eresatz must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against the caster's spell save DC or fall unconscious for 1 minute.

Brute (Bugbear Facet).

A melee weapon deals one extra die of its damage when the Ersatz hits with it (included in the attack).

Grasping Tendrils (Roper Facet).

Ersatz can have up to six tendrils at a time. Each tendril can be attacked (AC 20; 10 hit points; immunity to poison and psychic damage). Destroying a tendril deals no damage to Ersatz, which can extrude a replacement tendril on its next turn. A tendril can also be broken if a creature takes an action and succeeds on a DC 15 Strength check against it.

Immutable Form.

Ersatz is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Labyrinthine Recall (Minotaur Facet).

Ersatz can perfectly recall any path it has traveled.

Magic Resistance.

Ersatz has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magic Weapons.

Ersatz's weapon attacks are magical.

Pack Tactics (Wolf Facet).

Ersatz has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the Eresatz's allies is within 5 ft. of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Rampage (Gnoll Facet).

When Ersatz reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack on its turn, Ersatz can take a bonus action to move up to half its speed and make a melee attack.

Actions

Multiattack.

Ersatz makes three weapon attacks.

Consume Likeness.

Ersatz utterly consumes a dead non-construct creature within 5ft. For the next week, Ersatz gains one Facet (Ability, Action, Bonus Action, or Reaction) the creature had. Ersatz retains this Facet for 1 week. This Facet functions just as it would from the creature it came from, save any DC is modified to fit Eresatz Attribute modifiers and Proficiency Bonus of +6. A base set of Facets are already included in this stat block for Ersatz to be encountered with.

Bite (Mimic Facet).

Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) acid damage.

Pincer (Chuul Facet).

Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage. The target is grappled (escape DC 14) if it is a Large or smaller creature and the chuul doesn't have two other creatures grappled.

Tendril (Roper Facet).

Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 50 ft., one creature. Hit: The target is grappled (escape DC 17). Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained and has disadvantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws, and Ersatz can't use the same tendril on another target.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5-6) (Chimera Facet).

Eresatz exhales fire in a 15foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 31 (7d8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Bonus Actions

Modify.

Ersatz the Mimic uses its bonus action to change one or both of the saving throws it is Proficient in until the start of its next turn at which point it reverts to Strength and Constitution respectively.

Reactions

Adaptive Nature.

Whenever Ersatz the Mimic succeeds on a save against a Condition, it may use its Reaction to become immune to that Condition for the next 24 hours. Choose 1 Condition Ersatz is already immune to at the start of a first encounter.

Gears

Gears can't remember if he was a dwarven hero or a condemned criminal. Either way, he is more cogwork than flesh now and driven to mete out justice with his metal fists. He was first deployed during an intense goblin invasion of a dwarven stronghold. Initially he served as something between a shocktroop and a living weapon, but this cigar chopping 'cyborg' inspired the dwarven defenders fighting along side of him to the point that he became a mascot, then a leader. More times than one could count, he should have gone down under a barrage of attacks only to plow forward losing more flesh and blood later replaced with mithril and steel. Eventually, Gears lost every last dwarf he fought along side and just kept killing goblins whenever he could until the fortress housed him alone. Now he wanders the world, making things right the best he can one punch at a time. Gears Medium construct (dwarf), chaotic good Armor Class 12 (natural armor) ...

Netting Mimic

This particular mimic species has a rather unique origin. As polyps the first batch was caught in a giant spider's web soon after being spawned. Rather than being devoured by the arachnid, they turned into sticky strands amid the webwork. Not long after that, a group of adventurers slew said spider and moved on. The mimics had something to subsist on and kept their disguise to keep more bugs. When the spider's eggs hatched, instead of eating the young, the mimics were amused by the creatures and they protected them until they were large enough until to ride off to better climes. Eventually, these mimics took the shape of netting of all sorts: ship rigging, cargo nets, and so on as they were less conspicuous than spider webs. They still remain friends with things eight-legged. Netting Mimic Medium Monstrosity (shapechanger), neutral Armor Class 13 (natural armor) 52 (8d8 + 16) Speed 15 ft Climb ...

The Black Lady

The Black Lady claims to be the The King of Fools' concubine and takes pride in the title despite how other devils look down on her and the rest of the cavalcade for it. She adores the 'silly' archdevil to no end and works tirelessly to ensure that the devils beneath him show the properly courtly respect that her lord is due... if he is around. Otherwise, she focuses more on vicious gossip, violent fetes, and malicious matchmaking. Pitch black in skin with burning red eyes, the Black Lady's legs end in smolding pig hooves while long, curled horns poke from her ebony coiffure. She wears a variety of overy fancy dresses that are always stripped, monochrome, and risque. One accessory she is never without is an enchanted fan made from burnt angel feathers. This fan is as sharp as any demon's claws and will always return to her hand. The Black Lady Medium Fiend (devil), lawful evil Armor Class 22 (natural armor) Hit Points...
